King Edward VI Community College, or KEVICC as we are popularly known, is a very special place to learn. Our students are our greatest asset, they are a joy to work with and have amazing potential. Our students are at the centre of all we do; we listen to them and learn from them.
We have a beautiful campus, a talented team of staff, an innovative curriculum, supportive parents and good relationships both within the College and with the local community.
Here, we bring learning to life and we take it seriously. Our energy is infectious - this is a place where every student can catch the learning ‘bug’ for life, and discover that learning is challenging, hard work and risky, but creative, emotional, fun and rewarding too.
We cultivate young people who can live happy and effective lives, with emotional intelligence and a dynamic, ‘can-do’ attitude; a place where students discover and realise their talents and ambitions.
We have high expectations; our focus on student achievement and continuous improvement drives our work every day. Our exam results are amongst the best in Devon, both at GCSE and A Level and we also have outstanding success with special needs students.
We are proud to be a Performing Arts College, to have an exciting and innovative Year 7 curriculum and a thriving Sixth Form offering a wide range of courses including the International Baccalaureate. We are regarded as one of the best post-16 providers in Devon; every year our students gain places at the best universities. We have also been awarded the International Schools Award, with European links in France, Germany and Spain, and links further afield in California and Kolkata.
I am delighted to be the new Principal of KEVICC and I shall drive the continuous improvement of the College to ensure that KEVICC achieves excellence in every aspect of its work.
