Year 11 Making the Grade Information Evening
Thursday 19th October 2017 5:30 - 7:00 pm.
The Making the Grade event provides essential information about your child’s progression onto the next phase in their education Post 16, and also aims to prepare students for independent revision for the upcoming Year 11 mocks which begin on November 20th.
The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a talk in the theatre. Following this, students will attend a carousel of three short workshops led by English, Maths and Science staff. In these sessions we will look at past papers and how the exams will be structured, the type of questions that will be asked and the skills that are being assessed.
In previous years, parents have found that these sessions provide useful and practical ways to support effective revision at home.
Our independent careers advisor will be present to answer any questions and offer guidance on the different options available Post 16.
There will be a chance to purchase revision guides for core subjects. These guides are provided free of charge to students in receipt of free school meals and can be collected at the event.
