Year 7 and 8 trip to Paris
After our long coach journey, we
went to Aqua Boulevard - the
biggest Aqua park in Europe
Watching the spectacular
lights show and fireworks at
Disneyland was fantastic!
We climbed the many steps
to the Sacré Coeur church and
dined in Monmartre.
The tour of the Stade de France
helped us learn all about the
stadium and the events there.
We saw the gardens of the Louvre and went
on a boat trip down the river Seine to see
all the sights. Once it was dark, we drove
back through Paris and went up the Eiffel
Tower to see the views of Paris all lit up.
As part of the KEVICC International
Awareness programme, students
in Years 7 and 8 took part in a
competition called
My Favourite
Foreign Word
. More than seventy
students from both Year groups
participated by producing a poster
with a foreign word, along with an
explanation of what it meant for
them and how they knew the word.
It was a very difficult decision but
finally, our poster winners were
Holly Humpreys (Portuguese),
Poppy Payne (Japanese) and
Harland Clark (French). Well done
to all!

We would like to congratulate
KEVICC students on an excellent
effort in the national Vocab Express
competition. They accumulated
over 123,000 points during the
last week, and demonstrated their
linguistic abilities by coming 21st
nationally in Italian, 7th in Arabic,
11th in Polish and 19th in Urdu. They
attained 47,000 points in French,
which is an amazing total.
Special mention to Dylan Todd for
becoming the overall school winner
(over 7000 points); runners up were
James Caunter and Hester Aspland.
Prizes and certificates were awarded
to the top students in each category.

We had a fantastic time at Euro Disney
on the rides and buying souvenirs.
The weather was fantastic with deep
blue skies showing the city at its best.
